Stewart and Ross’ leadership and entrepreneurial spirit will continue to offer a competitive edge for the company now and into the future.
Stewart Morland is a career downstream fuel marketer with over 40 years experience in the industry.
Stewart began his career in 1979 with Morland Petroleum, a downstream petroleum company established by his father Reginald Morland. This hands-on experience across all facets of the industry provided Stewart with the necessary capabilities to establish his own fuel distribution company in 1990.
1996 saw Stewart and IOR begin their relationship through a joint exploration project resulting in the discovery of the Inland Oil Field PL98.
After becoming a shareholder in 2004, Stewart then became a majority owner and in 2013 was appointed as Managing Director.
Stewart leads sales, marketing, operations, and transport functions within the company and has seen the steady growth of the business to over 250 talented team members.
Stewart also serves on the board of LifeFlight Australia Ltd, chairs the board for LifeFlight Foundation Ltd, and is a board member for the Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE).
Ross Mackenzie has over 40 years of experience in the oil industry including oil exploration and production, refining, and marketing. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Tasmania, Ross spent nearly 20 years working in oil field services in Australia, the Middle East and the North Sea; which included 14 years in field engineering, technical and management roles with Schlumberger – a multi-national oil services company. After returning to Australia, Ross took a senior commercial role with Santos before joining IOR in 1996 as General Manager.
Ross has overseen the significant development and growth of the company; including the pioneering and successful expansion of the network of unmanned fuel outlets in regional and remote areas across Australia, as well as the development and deployment of IOR’s innovative technology and IT systems that underpin its fuel network and back office systems.
Ross considers IOR’s innovative and entrepreneurial spirit will continue to offer a competitive edge for the company in the future and allow IOR to commit to delivering vital resources and services to communities in regional and remote Australia.
We believe that we are more than a fuel supplier and seek to be a true member of the communities in which we work.
