MINING & RESOURCES

Fuel supply that keeps Australia's most critical mines running.

Remote mine sites need more than fuel delivery. They need compliant infrastructure, reliable bulk supply and on-site refuelling backed by a partner built for long-term, high-demand operations.

THE REAL COST OF GETTING IT WRONG

We know what keeps mine site managers up at night.

Remote mining operations run on tight schedules, heavy fuel demand and strict site requirements. When supply, storage or visibility breaks down, the impact is immediate.

Remote sites cannot wait on fuel.

The Challenge:

A missed delivery or stockout can put plant, generators and production schedules at risk. Mine sites need fuel supply that is planned, backed and reliable in remote conditions.

IOR helps by:

Temporary storage still needs to perform.

The Challenge:

Exploration, shutdowns and production sites need fuel storage that can be deployed quickly, operate safely and handle harsh site conditions.

IOR helps by:

You cannot manage what you cannot see.

The Challenge:

Fuel use across plant, generators and contractors can become a blind spot fast. Without live visibility, teams are left chasing stock levels, usage and reporting after the fact.

IOR helps by:

ENGINEERED FOR EXTRACTION

Everything your operation needs. One supplier.

Rapidly deployable infrastructure and technology engineered for the harshest remote environments.

DEPLOYABLE FLUID STORAGE TANKS

High-volume temporary storage for rapid deployment.

IOR supplies fluid storage tanks for exploration, shutdowns and high-demand mining projects where fast, flexible on-site storage is critical. Deployable, scalable and built for tough operating conditions.

SELF-BUNDED STORAGE TANKS

Long-term storage for serious fuel demand.

IOR supplies self-bunded tanks for mine sites that need reliable on-site fuel capacity over the life of the operation. Storage can be matched to site demand, access and equipment usage

ON-SITE REFUELLING

Fuel where the equipment works.

Keep plant, generators, light vehicles and heavy machinery moving with on-site refuelling support designed to reduce downtime and keep fuel close to the work front.

HYDIP™ FUEL MANAGEMENT

Real-time control over site fuel.

HyDip®™ gives mining teams live tank visibility, usage reporting and better control over fuel across tanks, assets and cost centres, without relying on manual checks.

SUSTAINABILITY & ESG

Engineered for safety and compliance.

In the resource sector, a fuel partner must be an extension of your own safety culture. IOR operates with strict protocols aligned to oil and gas industry requirements, ensuring safe fluid transfer and storage across all high-risk operations.

We are built to operate where safety, compliance, and reliability are non-negotiable, backed by triple ISO certification:

IOR supplies fuel across a range of MPC Kinetic's projects right across rural Australia. Our remote projects require a guaranteed supply of fuel on a regular basis to ensure our camps, plant and equipment are kept operational. IOR delivers a first-class service throughout the life of projects and we can genuinely trust them as a delivery partner

INTEGRATED SUPPLY CHAIN

From terminal to project site.

IOR operates across key stages of the fuel value chain, from terminal storage and domestic refining capability to bulk transport, on-site storage and HyDip®™ fuel management. This integrated model gives mining & resources customers a more secure, coordinated fuel supply solution for regional and remote operations.

+190ML of terminal storage.

We import directly into our own terminals at Lytton (QLD) and Port Bonython (SA). With +190ML of combined storage, we hold the reserves necessary to support fuel supply resilience.

Australia's only inland refinery.

We own and operate the Eromanga Refinery, deep in the Cooper Basin. From this facility, IOR produces Enersol® solvents and specialty petroleum products for Australian industry, alongside Eromanga UMF, a low particulate mining diesel designed for demanding operating environments.

Owned logistics fleet.

Fuel is moved via our own modern fleet. By controlling the transport, we guarantee delivery schedules to the most remote sites without third-party delays.

Unmanned 24/7 diesel network.

We operate Australia’s largest unmanned 24/7 diesel network, providing commercial access nationwide for your road-going fleets.

On-site storage.

We bring the fuel farm to you. We deploy AS1940-compliant self-bunded storage directly to your site, creating a secure, localised reserve where your heavy equipment actually operates.

Real-time monitoring via HyDip®™ FMS.

The entire chain is tied together by HyDip®™ FMS. We monitor your on-site tank levels in real time, triggering automated bulk replenishments before you ever run low.

FAQS

Common questions about Mining & Resources

Can IOR supply fuel to remote mine sites with restricted access?

Yes. IOR’s owned fleet includes AB-triple road trains and rigid tankers configured for remote and restricted access sites. We operate across all major Australian mining corridors, including the Pilbara, Goldfields, Bowen Basin, and outback Queensland and South Australia.

IOR deploys AS1940-compliant frac tanks (180bbl to 500bbl) and self-bunded storage tanks (13KL to 100KL) to remote exploration and extraction sites. All tanks are delivered, commissioned, and documented before first fill. Deployment typically occurs within 5 business days of contract award.

Yes. IOR structures 3-to-5 year supply agreements for mining and resources clients. These contracts include guaranteed supply continuity, infrastructure deployment, HyDip®™ telemetry, and dedicated account management. Contact our mining team to discuss tender requirements.

IOR holds triple ISO certification: ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety). Our Integrated Management System is externally audited and covers all aspects of our supply chain operations.

Eromanga UMF (Ultra-Low Particulate Mining Fuel) is produced at IOR’s Eromanga Refinery, Australia’s only inland refinery. It is specifically formulated for heavy mining equipment, producing significantly lower particulate emissions than standard diesel. It is fully compatible with all modern Tier 4 and Tier 4F mining engines.
