OUR INFRASTRUCTURE

Infrastructure across the fuel value chain.

IOR's supply chain is grounded in physical infrastructure at every level  purpose-built import terminals,
a domestic crude oil refinery, a company-owned national transport fleet, and Australian-manufactured fuel storage and management technology. These assets support reliable bulk fuel supply, large-scale storage, and distribution into key industrial markets across Australia.

LYTTON + PORT BONYTHON

Strategic import and bulk storage infrastructure.

IOR operates two purpose-built import terminals  Lytton in Queensland and Port Bonython in South Australia —with a combined diesel storage capacity of 191 million litres.

Lytton, commissioned in 2023, is one of the largest diesel-only terminals on Australia’s east coast, providing up to 12 days’ diesel storage for Brisbane and surrounding regions.

Port Bonython holds 81ML of diesel storage capacity, making it the largest terminal of its kind in South Australia, and supplies critical industries including mining, transport, and wholesale across the state.

Both terminals operate 24/7, with multi-arm gantry loading designed for road train access, and are subject to IOR’s multi-stage quality assurance program from load port certification through to terminal storage  ensuring product consistently meets or exceeds Australian Fuel Quality Standards.

EROMANGA REFINERY

Domestic refining capability in regional Queensland.

IOR owns and operates the Eromanga Refinery in Queensland, with output of 1,250 barrels per day. Operating since 1984, the refinery forms an important part of IOR’s integrated fuel supply capability.

THE CHALLENGE

Securing Australia's fuel supply chain.

In a market reliant on imported fuel and concentrated coastal storage, large-scale operators require absolute certainty. You need a fuel partner who owns the physical supply chain, not a reseller. From import to ignition, here is how we guarantee supply.

Terminals

IOR imports and stores fuel through its terminal infrastructure at Lytton and Port Bonython, with 191ML of combined terminal storage capacity supporting supply into key Australian markets.

Refinery

IOR owns and operates the Eromanga Refinery in regional Queensland. With output of 1,250 barrels per day, it provides domestic refining capability within IOR’s broader fuel supply model.

Bulk Transport

Fuel is distributed through IOR’s logistics capability, supporting bulk fuel delivery to depots, sites, regional operations and storage infrastructure across Australia.

Diesel Network

IOR operates a national Diesel Network of 115+ locations, giving commercial transport operators access to diesel and AdBlue® across key freight routes and regional operating areas.

Aviation

IOR Aviation supports aviation fuel access across 39 airport locations, with Jet A-1, Avgas and AvPULP™ available at selected sites, alongside bulk aviation fuel supply and into-plane refuelling options.

On-Site Tanks

IOR supplies fuel storage infrastructure for diesel, AdBlue® and aviation fuels, including self-bunded tanks from 13KL to 100KL, combination tanks and modular fuel farms for larger projects.

HyDip®™ FMS

HyDip®® connects fuel infrastructure with tank level monitoring, transaction visibility and reporting, helping customers reduce manual checks and improve fuel visibility across on-site storage.

WHY IOR?

Australia's most vertically integrated fuel supplier.

IOR’s supply capability is backed by physical infrastructure, from import terminals and domestic refining to bulk storage, logistics, fuel networks and on-site fuel management.

FAQS

Common questions about Supply & Trading

What is the combined storage capacity of IOR's terminals?

IOR’s Lytton and Port Bonython terminals have a combined storage capacity of 191 megalitres. Both facilities are deep-water import terminals capable of high-speed triple road train loading, ensuring reliable bulk supply to the East Coast and South Australia.

The Eromanga Refinery is Australia’s only inland refinery, producing high-quality, ultra-low particulate diesel at a capacity of approximately 1,250 barrels per day. It has been in continuous sovereign operation since 1984, providing a critical domestic fuel source in the heart of the outback.

Yes. IOR provides specialised condensate supply and trading services for industrial and manufacturing applications. We leverage our terminal network at Lytton and Port Bonython to secure reliable condensate supply. Contact our trading team to discuss your specific requirements.

Because IOR owns the physical supply chain from import terminal to delivery, we are not dependent on third-party infrastructure or logistics providers. This means greater price certainty, reduced supply risk, and guaranteed delivery schedules to even the most remote sites.
