IOR Continues to Fuel Our Red and Yellow Heroes in the Sky

IOR is excited to continue its support of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service QLD, having recently recommitted to being a premium partner of the service.

Supported by over 40 paid and volunteer crew members, the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service QLD is one of the oldest community-based services of its kind in the world. The service operates within the South East Queensland coast from Rainbow Beach to Rainbow Bay. While primarily carrying out beach surveillance, the service is also deployed to assist with emergency responses, searches, and rescues and works with Queensland emergency services organisations.

The service is free to the community both on and off the beach. Since the national service was established by Westpac and Surf Life Saving Australia in Sydney in 1973, more than 80,000 missions have been performed and no one has ever had to pay to be rescued.

IOR has long been the fuel supplier to the service at both bases on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, fuelling our red and yellow heroes in the sky with a reliable supply of Jet A1. IOR’s fuel supply has been enhanced by leading fuel storage equipment and IOR’s proprietary fuel management system HyDip®.

IOR’s support of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service QLD is akin to its value of community and drive to make a meaningful difference by supporting organisations that save lives and improve people’s wellbeing.

IOR’s support of the service is complementary to its investment in RACQ LifeFlight Rescue, Heart of Australia, It’s a Bloke Thing, and Outback Futures as well as IOR’s participation in regional Australian communities.
