IOR supports South Australian Government to strengthen fuel security
IOR is proud to partner with the South Australian Government to strengthen fuel security to the state and provide assurance to the critical industries the nation relies on to prosper including agriculture and mining.
The initiative builds on IOR’s recent engagement with the Australian Government through its Fuels Security Facility Agreement with Export Finance Australia (EFA), which enables the company to secure and deliver additional fuel cargoes into Australia during periods of global disruption.
Together, these efforts demonstrate the critical role of industry-government collaboration in providing effective solutions and ensuring reliable supply to regional communities and key sectors.
IOR CEO Drew Morland said the company was pleased to support the South Australian Government initiative:
“We applaud the Premier’s approach to fuel security for South Australians and look forward to continuing to work with all levels of government as a trusted partner in strengthening fuel security for Australians.
“This is a practical example of how industry and government can work together to deliver timely, targeted solutions that benefit communities and critical sectors. As a proudly Australian business, with approximately 87 per cent of our sales volume taking place across regional and remote Australia, we are a natural partner to support government,” Mr Morland said.
“The strategic location of Port Bonython is significant not only for South Australia but for national fuel security. It supports key industries across the Upper Spencer Gulf and Eyre Peninsula, including agriculture, as well as the mining sector that helps power the Australian economy.
“We are committed to contributing to Australia’s long-term fuel resilience by deploying our infrastructure and expertise where it is needed most.”
