IOR’s new tanker takes (Life)Flight

IOR has unveiled the latest and greatest IOR B-Double Tanker and what better setting to show it off than at the 2019 Brisbane Truck Show?

This is the second IOR tanker, which will roll around the country promoting RACQ LifeFlight Rescue.  The special artwork splashed across the B-Double aims to raise awareness about the lifesaving impact the aeromedical retrieval service has on communities throughout Southern Queensland and beyond.

The tanker features RACQ LifeFlight Rescue patient Jenny. Jenny’s story takes place on the picturesque dairy farm she and her husband own in Maclagan – about 45km from Dalby.

Jenny was working away in a cattle yard one morning when a large, angry bullock unexpectedly charged at, and trampled her.

Left with critical chest and internal injuries, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue was called in to airlift Jenny to intensive care in a Brisbane Hospital.

Without the rapid response provided by RACQ LifeFlight Rescue, Jenny would have had no other choice but to travel four hours, by road, to Brisbane.  Doctors say she might not have survived the road trip.

Jenny says there was one thing that kept her fighting in hospital; she couldn’t wait to eat the bull!

Jenny and her husband Jeff aren’t alone in their experience. RACQ LifeFlight Rescue is called to thousands of incidents like this each and every year. In fact, in their 40 years of operation, their team have flown more than 50,000 critical helicopter rescue missions from their 8 base facilities across Queensland.

IOR has been making a difference to Queensland communities, with RACQ LifeFlight Rescue, for over 12 years. Together we believe that we’re able to save more Queensland lives.
